Hi All!
I moved to Sweden 3 years ago, and it's been about that long since my last 4n'20 pie.
I have contacted Patties in Australia, and am currently hoping to negotiate a way to bring them to Sweden. Hopefully this won't be too difficult as I have spoken to some people in the US that have achieved this.
The range looks to include Pies, Sausage Rolls, Pasties etc.
I am also fortunate enough to run a company in Sweden, and so I would be able to import and sell them etc.
Depending on interest, my plan would be to import in batches a few times a year, and sell via an online webshop. At this stage, I am not looking to make a profit, so would sell at break-even-prices + shipping, tax etc.
I can not provide a cost at the moment, but am asking the greater ex-pat community and the AFL fans if there is any interest. If there is I will go ahead and get back to you all as details emerge.
In addition to Pies, I am also, in the future, looking to bring in other Australian items, so if there is anything people are looking for, let me know, and I will check things out back home.

cheers, and looking forward to season 2012!
P.S : It seems we (Karlskrona Magpies) might finally have attracted enough people to field a regular 9-a-side team. If there is anyone interested in a training match next year, drop me a message

Hi all,
an update on the situation.
I contacted just about every bakery in Australia to try and negotiate a deal, however there in just about all cases I was told that they couldn't export to Europe as they weren't certified. In some cases (such as Patties who own four 'n twenty) they had export licenses, though the numbers of orders they received were not high enough to stop the local production, and begin export production, so they are ceasing their export activities.
This being the case, I was put in contact with Vili's Pies, and they happen to have a bakery in London. I contacted them, and they agreed to deal with us at wholesale prices, however the minimum order would be 70 cases (1 pallet).
Up to this point, I have not received enough interest that I can make a business case to invest the capital (Freezer storage etc) to start importing. Based on interest, I have to assume I would either (a) be eating a lot of pies! or (b) making a loss.
I have, however, contacted The English Shop (Stockholm, Malmö, Gothenburg) which you may be familiar with. I am hoping they can take over the deal I have with Vili's, and import themselves, as they are closer to the major markets, have the infrastructure in place already, and more critically, they import from the UK already, meaning they may already have frozen shipping and would not have to import a whole pallet. My next conversation with the English Shop will be after Christmas, so if there is still interest, please contact me, so I can present some numbers to the English Shop, which will mean they are more likely to bring stock in.
Wishing you all a merry christmas
Mick
