The footy club in Karlstad was formed in 2007 known as the Dragons. In 2009, the club changed its name to the Karlstad Eagles, due to their partnership with the AFL club West Coast Eagles. The club hosted the inaugrual VB Cup in 2008 and was able to win the AFL Sweden West in the same year. Current president is Jimmy Ljunggren.
